  5 egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 pint whipping cream
  Instructions
  This cake needs to be made the night before. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and salt until very dry. Then add a tablespoon at a time of sugar and beat until well dissolved, scraping bowl frequently. Spread megingue on a greased 8x13 pan. Place in 400 degree oven and immediately turn off heat. Go to bed and let meringue stay, undisturbed, until morning. Next morning remove from oven and spread whipped cream on top. Place dessert in icebox all day. When ready to serve, cut into squares and serve with fresh or frozen fruit.
