Scald milk and then add sugar, butter and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in milk mixture. Add eggs and then cheese and blend well. Beat in 3 cups of flour until smooth. Stir in enough additional flour to make a stiff dough. Turn dough onto a lightly floured board and kneed until smooth and elastic for about 10 minutes. Divide dough into two pieces and shape into loaves. Place in butterd bread pans. Brush tops lightly with melted butter. Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or ntil doubled in bulk. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Remove from pans and let cook on wire rack. |
